A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Favaro holds a B.S. degree in microbiology from Clemson University. He is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina where he also was involved in basic science research in HIV.
Dr. Favaro completed his internship and residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern and fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology from Duke University Medical Center. During his fellowship training at Duke, he was involved in studying the role of TGF-b in tumor development and in Phase I and GI clinical trials studying the effects of anti-angiogenic agents on tumor development.
Dr. Favaro is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Society of Clinical Oncology and currently serves on the COA (Community Oncology Alliance) Board. Back to the Medical Staff Page > |
